In Kazan on the evening of August 21, the International Music Festival “New Wave” opened. Its participants will be 13 young artists from six countries and almost all stars of Russian pop music. Among them are Valery Leontyev, Larisa Dolina, Yuri Antonov, Philip Kirkorov, Leonid Agutin, Alsu, Dima Bilan, Nikolai Baskov, Anna Asti, Lucy Chebotina and many others.
The decision to transfer the competition from Sochi to the capital Tatarstan in April was launched by one of the founders of New Wave Igor Krutoy. Moreover, the festival has been moved in the literal meaning – the concert of the newly transported hall from the territory of the Sirius 60 truck with a capacity of 2.8 thousand spectators. Now, design, reminiscent of a giant high mountain wooden house, spread out on the banks of Kazanka next to the Ak Bars Arena Stadium.
The size of the scene is 30 x 25 meters, and it will have to contain many generations of artists – from beginners to the masters of the Soviet stage.
This year, more than six thousand applications were sent to participate in the new wave. 13 contestants reached the final.
