The architects presented a project to rebuild the square at the Puppet Theater at Novosibirsk. The space was formed by Andrrei Kryachkov in 1912 and architect Alexander Mikhailov in the early 90s will be updated for the festival of IV International Puppet Theater in Novosibirsk. Puppets from Indonesia, India, China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and other Russian theaters will be heard in Novosibirsk in the summer of 2026.
The big puppet procession, according to the tradition of opening the Perekrestok festival, will be held for the first time on the Theater Square updated. As the theater leader said today, the new project will preserve all forms of small architectural invented by the authors led by architect Mikhailov in 1985-1995. At the same time, this area will become more modern and more convenient for citizens.
As the architect recalled, the Puppet Novosibirk theater opened in 1999 in the school building, built under the project of Andrei Kryachkov in 1912. Kryachkov heritage was preserved by adjusting the building according to the theater's needs. Stained glass windows, stage furniture and input areas become one of the attraction of Novosibirsk.
The square at the Puppet Theater has become a place to synthesize heritage before evolution and the Soviet Union. In order for his guests to join the festival, it decided to develop a project to refresh the territory. Guests, said the author of the rehabilitation project, architect Alexander Bruyenkov.
The unique semicircular benches at the theater promise to completely update the dolls, slices with a branded debris and color layout will repeat with the power currently being conducted in the city center. According to the architects' plans, a new stage platform will appear in October 2025 and small architectural forms will be updated in the upcoming spring.
