Blizzard has fired a World of Warcraft support employee following a high-profile dungeon scandal involving streamer YaraByte. GamesRadar reports this.
The reason is a post on Reddit, the author of which says that a Blizzard employee, who has Game Master rights, helped a group of players complete the Mythic+23 dungeon. As evidence, Warcraft Logs were cited, according to which one of the opponents was instantly killed by the “Death Zone (TEST)” effect used by the Daijosai account, which allegedly belongs to the game owner.
The scandal received widespread attention after the situation was discussed during a stream by World of Warcraft content creator yumytv. One of the participants in the race, streamer Yiesus, said he went to a game master he knew to ask for help, asking him to immediately destroy the enemy. He later admitted that Blizzard employees should not have done this, although he himself considered the incident harmless. Streamer YaraByte, who also participated in the dungeon, later posted a segment of this broadcast on the social network X (Twitter).
After multiple complaints appeared on Blizzard's official forums, company representative Randy Jordan, better known by his nickname Kaivax, said the developers had begun examining the incident. He emphasized that a fair competitive environment is an important part of Blizzard's games and that unfair advantage will not be tolerated.
According to the publication, after an internal investigation, a Blizzard employee who helped players was fired.
Previously, a Ford employee lost his job because a $2 candy bar was allegedly stolen.
