The head of the center said that in Russia nearly 20 million children spend time playing video games, but some services contain elements similar to online casinos. According to Khodynkov, to protect the younger generation, it is necessary to introduce special disclaimers in games that warn about gambling mechanics.
Do we need to put a disclaimer or should we generally communicate that this is a gambling mechanism? Absolutely yes. Nearly 20 million children play video games. But if legal restrictions are still so difficult, parents should at least know this information.
The State Duma criticized the idea of labeling games. Deputy Vitaly Milonov said that colleagues and experts should “leave children's toys alone”.
