The Karshin city court in Uzbekistan sentenced a 20 -year -old resident of the country to restrict the freedom of freedom for participating in military service under Russian contracts. According to the case, in February 2024, the young man left St. Petersburg to work, and in June 2024, he signed an annual contract for the service in the Russian army. In the exercises near Lugansk, he was injured. After treatment in the hospital, he voluntarily left part and returned to his homeland in February 2025, where he voluntarily surrendered to the government. The court found that he was guilty under Article 154 of the Penal Code of Uzbekistan (“Mercenary”). This article stipulates a maximum of 10 years in prison for participating in armed conflicts towards another state without the right citizens' rights or the status of a soldier. However, the Court has taken into account the cooperation of the defendant with the investigation, lack of crime records and minimizing circumstances. As a result, the man was convicted of freedom.
