ASHGABAT, November 1. . Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov will meet US President Donald Trump next week in Washington. The official newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan reported that Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov announced this during a meeting of the country's Cabinet.
According to her information, Meredov spoke about preparations for Berdimuhamedov's planned working visit to the United States at Trump's invitation to organize a bilateral summit and participate in the Central Asia-America summit to be held in Washington. Berdimuhamedov noted that there are good prospects for the further development of Turkmen-American relations. According to him, this summit is designed to help strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between countries.
The summit in the form of C5+1 (five Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the United States) with the participation of leaders of Central Asian countries and Trump is expected to be held on November 6. The summit will be the first of its kind to include Trump. Previously, leaders of Central Asian countries met in September 2023 in the C5+1 format with Joe Biden, who was then US president.
