Digitalization in the Commonwealth is one of the main themes of the CIS Youth Inter-Parliamentary Council. It is happening these days in Minsk. Participants visited a children's technology park. This is a place to train gifted youth at the high school level. At the meeting, new cooperation milestones were outlined. Which ones, MIR 24 reporter Angelina Kazartseva discovered.
Design a plane model, master the intricacies of its structure and even learn how to fly it. In the aerospace technology course, students learn from teachers at top universities in the country. Parliamentarians also take leadership.
“We are applying Belarusian experience; today I have collected points that I want to apply in my city of Kenesh.
The children's technology park combines the most popular specialties of our time: from robot programming to laser technology. But this knowledge is not only for high school students in Belarus: for example, Russian students from Sirius also come here in shifts.
“It would be very interesting if we carry out student exchanges in such programs, gifted Belarusian students will come to study in the Russian Federation.
They also suggest developing logic and strategy in children through sports. Russian senator and world champion Sergei Karyakin will open a chess school in Minsk in November.
“Talent needs to be discovered at an early age and given as much support as possible because competition is very high. We are doing similar work and are also ready to share our experience with the Republic of Belarus.
One of the key issues discussed among young parliamentarians was digitalisation in the Commonwealth. We are ready to cooperate closely in this area. For example, Uzbekistan wants to learn from the experience of Belarusian IT specialists and create joint projects.
Bekhzod Tukhtamurodov, Deputy Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, noted: “As projects are promoted not only domestically but also abroad, this is another contribution to the development of bilateral relations. Your delegates put forward concrete ideas for cooperation within the framework of digitalization projects in the CIS countries.”
In total, during the meeting days, young lawmakers discussed 12 issues. These are initiatives and projects in the fields of education, tourism, and youth policy.
