Publisher Hooded Horse and developer Ice-Pick Lodge, best known for the Pestilence series, have announced Darkwood 2. Survival horror game announced for PC. Release date is still unknown.
The Polish Acid Wizard Workshop was responsible for the first Darkwood. This is one of the best games of 2017, with a score from Riot Pixels of 85/100.
The events of the first part took place in the 1980s, but the sequel will take place in the 1990s. The action scene is not Poland, but the Soviet Union after its collapse, or more precisely, the deadly Aral Sea (on the territory of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan). You will again find yourself in an ominous forest. You will have to wander through bushes, wastelands and swamps, row boats, collect resources during the day and barricade in shelters at night. The territory of the dry lake is inhabited – here and there you can come across old soldiers and raiders.
At the same time, Ice-Pick Lodge was developing Pathologic 3.
Acid Wizard Studio has been suspended from the gaming industry since 2023. However, judging by the trailer, the authors of the original are still involved in the creation of the sequel to some extent.
