The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has just appointed Mr. Evgeny Khorishko as Consul General of the Russian Federation in Samarkand (Uzbekistan). The Russian Foreign Ministry reported this.
Khorishko was born in 1965. He graduated from MGIMO University under the Soviet Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1987 and speaks English and French. From June 2022, he will hold the rank of second-class special diplomatic envoy extraordinary and plenipotentiary.
Khorishko has worked in the diplomatic service since 1987. For many years, he held positions in the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and abroad. In 2020-2022, he headed the Russian Consulate General in Klaipeda (Lithuania), then was the chief adviser of the North American Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and from December 2024 was the chief adviser of the North Atlantic Department.
