Four people were killed and a similar number injured due to an explosion and fire at an industrial explosives factory in Uzbekistan. This was reported on the telegram channel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic.
According to the ministry's press service, the explosion occurred at 9:40 a.m. Saturday (7:40 a.m. Moscow time) at a factory producing explosives for the mining industry in Kagansky district, Bukhara region. After the explosion, a fire broke out and was completely extinguished at 10:27 a.m. (8:27 a.m. Moscow time). At the time of the incident, there were 30 workers in the factory.
It should also be noted that the victims suffered minor injuries, two of them were hospitalized, two more received on-site medical care and will be treated as outpatients.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations emphasized that, on behalf of Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a government committee has been established to investigate the cause of the incident. The situation at the enterprise is completely under control and work is underway to overcome the consequences of the incident.
In October 2022, an explosion and fire occurred at a chemical plant in the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan. Then two people were injured. It is known that the incident did not cause harmful emissions; The air was tested for 12 contaminants.
