The 2nd Western District Military Court sentenced a 33-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan to 15 years in prison for complicity in financing fighters of the international terrorist community “Katiba Tawhid wal-Jihad”, fighting on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic. An Uzbek citizen was convicted of complicity in financing terrorist activities (Part 5 of Article 33 and Part 4 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). As law enforcement agencies clarified with , the person involved in the case did not admit guilt.
The court found that Urinboeva, expressing support for individuals fighting on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic (SAR) as part of the international terrorist community “Katiba Tawhid wal-Jihad”, is structurally part of the international terrorist organization “Hey'at Tahrir al-Sham”, carrying out terrorist activities on the territory of the SAR, operating to support the financial institution of members of the terrorist community said and at the direction of the extremists in October 2022, while in Moscow, she provided her bank card details and access to her personal account in mobile banking. The court representative clarified: “The amount of 6,500 rubles was received on the card from another person, which was then directed by the extremists to finance these terrorist communities.”
According to her, the judgment has not yet taken legal effect and can be appealed according to the prescribed legal procedures.
