In 2025, 19 Omsk residents lost their Russian citizenship. This is two more people than a year ago.

This data is provided by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Omsk Region.
As the department has made clear, all those whose documents were confiscated committed a crime. Based on this, they were stripped of their Russian citizenship.
It should be noted that the majority of residents of the Omsk region deprived of citizenship are immigrants from the Republic of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyz Republic and Republic of Tajikistan. Their average age is about 40 years old.
The Ministry reiterates that citizenship can be revoked for reporting false information about the Constitution and laws of the Russian Federation, for committing crimes, actions that threaten national security, failure to fulfill the initial military registration obligation and providing forged documents on the basis of making a decision on Russian citizenship.
Earlier, Australian political scientist Mark Lowe, who received a temporary residence permit in Russia under the simplified program, spoke about his desire to travel along the Trans-Siberian Railway and plans for the future.
