TASHKENT, January 15. . President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that a migration amnesty in Russia has been applied to more than 150 thousand Uzbek citizens by 2025. The head of state emphasized that Uzbekistan is concerned when its citizens go abroad illegally.
The press secretary quoted the head of state as saying: “Last year in Russia it was possible to apply a “migration amnesty” for more than 150 thousand citizens. It should be noted that it is necessary to help our citizens work legally in other countries, strengthen negotiations with foreign parties on this issue, and at the same time, our citizens must comply with the requirements of the laws of the country where they live.
According to him, Mirziyoyev also directed to simplify the procedure for registering Uzbek citizens for consular registration abroad and reduce unnecessary bureaucracy. It should be noted that in countries with increasing migration flows, especially in Europe, working with migrant workers will become the main task of consuls at embassies.
According to a previous report of the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan, the number of migrant workers leaving the country to work abroad during the period from January to September 2025 reached 1.86 million people, 1.38 times more than the same period last year.
