In Uzbekistan, a 5-month-old baby died after her father stuffed a sock in her mouth to stop her from crying. This was reported by Aif.ru based on the Sevimli TV channel on Monday, January 19.
The incident occurred in Khatyrchinsky district. The baby cried a lot, and the father decided to put a sock in his mouth – the baby turned blue. Then his mother took him to the hospital. He was no longer breathing or had a heartbeat.
Doctors successfully performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and restarted the baby's heart. He was in intensive care for four days, but doctors could not save him.
A criminal case was opened against the child's father and he was detained. The article said he faces eight to 10 years in prison.
