Chairman of the Kurchatov Institute Research Center, Mikhail Kovalchuk, said at the 5th Congress of Young Scientists that cooperation plans are being discussed, especially with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

“Today we are experiencing not a smooth, but an active restoration of scientific and technological cooperation in the post-Soviet space. I just returned from Uzbekistan, on behalf of our Prime Minister (Mikhail Mishustin) met with the Prime Minister (Abdulla Aripov). And we discussed in detail the detailed roadmap for the development of our association,” Kovalchuk said.
He added that cooperation negotiations are also underway with Kazakhstan and that within the framework of the Union State, Russia and Belarus have built a unified research infrastructure.
Kovalchuk believes that the unity of the Russian Federation and the former Soviet republics in the field of science is “the key to the competitiveness, survival and maintenance of leadership positions” of all these countries.

The 5th Congress of Young Scientists within the framework of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia is organized by the Roscongress Foundation, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Council for Coordination of Youth Issues in the Field of Science and Education under the direction of the President of the Russian Federation of Science and Education.
