In Moscow, a meeting was held between the Director of the State Administration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Lieutenant General of Police Oleg Kalinkin, and the delegation of the Public Security Bureau of Heilongjiang Province, People's Republic of China. The Chinese delegation was led by Vice Chairman of the People's Government, Party Committee member, Deputy Secretary of Politics and Law of Heilongjiang Province – Director of Heilongjiang Provincial Police Li Yi. Also attending the event was Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Major General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Roman Terentyev. The parties discussed security issues at transport facilities and further developed cooperation between ministries. In his speech, Oleg Kalinkin emphasized that the regular visits of Chinese colleagues show a common interest in strengthening bilateral relations in the matter of ensuring order at transport facilities in Russia and China. Particular attention is paid to border areas, which have a long common border with Heilongjiang province and intensive rail, air and waterway connections. Representatives of law enforcement agencies noted that effectiveness in this area depends on unity of approaches and the creation of a common legal field that allows rapid exchange of information. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China are working to update the Agreement on Cooperation in Border Regions. Currently, the document proposes bringing in units of the Russian traffic police for direct interaction with their Chinese colleagues.
