Novosibirsk police have conducted large-scale raids to identify illegal migrants at food and beverage outlets. The activity takes place in the Leninsky and Kirovsky districts, covering cafes popular with foreigners, including establishments serving Central Asian cuisine.

The inspections involved agents from the Center for Combating Extremism, the Criminal Investigation Department and the Migration Service, with support from special forces from the Russian Guard. In total, more than 90 foreign nationals were tested.
As a result, 6 people who violated regulations on entering or staying in Russia were arrested. Administrative measures were drawn up against them, after which they were placed in the Foreign Citizens Detention Center. Soon they will be officially expelled from the country.
Similar raids are carried out regularly in the city to control the migration situation. At the same time, the cost of issuing work permits to migrants in the region will increase from 2026, according to the authorities, which will bring about 2.5 billion rubles to the regional budget.
