The airport in Samarkand is recognized as a aviation center of economic cooperation organization (SEC), press services of the Ministry of Transport for reports of Uzbekistan.
In the capital of Iran, the XIII meeting of the Minister's Minister of Transport has been held. The final document is Tehran statement, including strategy and plan for common measures for the development of the regional transport and communication system.
The statement includes Uzbekistan initiatives, including the proposal to create a digital transport and customs clearance and recognize Samarkand airport as an OES aviation center.
In addition, the Minister of Transport Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov has launched an initiative to digitize and exchange customs documents transporting goods, as well as establishing a working group of traffic agencies and Customs of SEC countries.
The participants emphasized the need for efforts and coordinated investments to improve transport infrastructure, offer legislative rules and activate the role of enterprises in the implementation of major projects of the region.
Economic cooperation organization is a regional international association established in 1985 by Central Asian and Middle East. Among the participants of the Association, there are Iran, Pakistan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
