Yakkasarai's Tashkent district court sentenced 4 people according to the actual terms (from three to eight years and a month) in the case of three -person poisoning at the hotel. Among them, a journalist from Russia Inessa Papernaya and her companion Maxim Radchenko.
The judge has found the owner of a criminal hotel provided by an article about the performance of the work or the provision of services that do not meet the security requirements and an article on the authoritarianism of the Penal Code of Uzbekistan. The owner of the hotel has been convicted for eight years and a month in prison.
A plumbing and two citizens who sold a poor quality boiler were also convicted. Each of them was sentenced to three years in prison.
Papernaya and Radchenko died in a Tashkent hotel on October 20, 2024 due to carbon monoxide poisoning due to faulty boiler, no technical verification and no certificates for operation. Another guest of the hotel – a citizen of Uzbekistan, who occupied another number dead.
The court collected 67.58 million Souma (about 420 thousand rubles) from those convicted to benefit Papernaya's relatives, supporting Radchenko's relatives, – 60.68 million Souma (about 380 thousand rubles) for costs for inspection and transport of agencies.
