The transport prosecutor's office said that Flydubai's flight from Kazan to Dubai was delayed for almost two days: instead of departing on January 20, passengers will only be able to depart at 4 a.m. on January 22, 2026. The reason was due to technical problems with the plane.

A mobile reception desk was arranged for passengers at the airport and an assistant of the Tatar Transport Prosecutor went there to resolve the case on the spot. Everyone was put in a hotel while they waited. The supervisory authority took control of the situation and ensured passengers were provided with all services required by aviation regulations and promised to take additional measures if necessary.
Similar delays occurred at other airports in 2026. In Volgograd, several international flights, including those to Istanbul and Minsk, were unable to take off on time; Passengers waited for departure for many hours. In Krasnodar, due to security restrictions, flights to Türkiye and the UAE were postponed. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, mass flight transfers and cancellations of foreign flights were recorded, including destinations Dubai, Istanbul, Tashkent and Baku.
