Moscow, July 29 /TASS /. Human Rights Commissioner in the Russian Federation, Tatyana Moscow, met a colleague from Uzbekistan Feruza Eshmatova, discussed the protection of the rights of citizens of the two countries, as well as some specific human rights cases.
“She held a work meeting with the inspector of Uzbekistan Faruza Farkhadovna Ashmatova. They discussed a series of issues related to the protection of our citizens' rights, as well as some specific human rights cases,” Tedyana Moscova wrote on HERGRAM.
According to Russian Inspectorate, in 2024-2025, it received 115 appeals from the Republic's citizens, involving restricting entry into Russia, legalizing, acquiring Russian citizens, having a temporary residence and residence permit.
In turn, the press services of the Uzbekistan Inspector clarified, “The parties discussed issues of strengthening cooperation in areas such as citizens' appeal consideration, identifying and eliminating torture cases, ensuring human rights in repentance organizations, creating worthy conditions for people with disabilities, as well as protecting benefits.” In addition, in the meeting held at Tashkent, special attention was paid for the general review of citizens of the two countries. “Therefore, in the second quarter of 2025, the Uzbekistan human rights commissioner received 87 appeals from foreign diplomats and citizens living abroad, of which 38 were related to the Russian Federation.
Tashkent emphasized that a collaborative memorandum was signed between Ombudsmen of Uzbekistan and Russia in 2019. Within his framework, the Uzbek side continuously made working trips to the Russian Federation to study the appeals of the companion.
Moscow flew to Tashkent on Monday as part of the CIS Human Rights Committee.
