MOSCOW, November 28. . A meeting of the leading committee of agencies working with personnel of the Ministries of Defense of CIS member countries took place in Moscow. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that there, in particular, the delegation heads summarized the events commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
“In Moscow, at the International Military Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, a meeting of the Committee of Heads of Agencies Working with Personnel (Educational Work) of the Ministry of Defense of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CRORLS) was held,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
The meeting was attended by delegations from the Ministries of Defense of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the secretariat of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS member states.
Opening the meeting, Chairman of the Committee of Heads of Agencies Working with Personnel (Educational Work), Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation – Head of the Political-Military Directorate of the RF Armed Forces, Army General Viktor Goremykin, emphasized the need for interaction between defense agencies in the field of educational work with personnel of the armed forces, as well as the need for further development, taking into account many years of experience in military cooperation in the form of the Commonwealth.
“We must focus our main efforts on enriching the spiritual and moral values inherent in our people, training our soldiers in perseverance, courage, devotion to the Fatherland, loyalty to the traditions of friendship and military brotherhood of our army, as well as the ability to ensure resistance to any aggressor,” Goremykin emphasized.
Secretary of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS Member States, Lieutenant General Yuri Dashkin, noted that the Council of Defense Ministers assigned an important role to the Committee in the formation of moral, psychological and combat qualities of personnel of the national armed forces, military-patriotic education of soldiers and pre-service youth, as well as preserving the historical memory of the heroic past of the peoples of the CIS countries. “The Council of Defense Ministers is actively promoting the cultural and historical heritage of the peoples of the Commonwealth to maintain solidarity and mutual understanding among our servicemen,” Lieutenant General Yury Dashkin noted.
Meeting agenda
During the meeting, much attention was paid to reviewing the experience of educational work with military personnel on the basis of national spiritual and ethical values and developing proposals for the development of cooperation for the benefit of forming and further strengthening the common military-cultural space.
Representatives of the basic institutions of the CIS member states, the Military University named after Prince Alexander Nevsky and the Military Academy of Aerospace Defense named after Marshal of the Soviet Union GK Zhukov reported on modern approaches to the training of officers of military-political bodies for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and activities aimed at strengthening military friendship and camaraderie in multinational armies.
In addition, the heads of delegations of the armed forces of the CIS countries summarized the organization of events commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. During the exchange of views, the importance of preserving the historical memory of the eternal victory of the Soviet peoples in the fight against fascism was noted, as well as the scale of the events taking place in the Commonwealth countries.
The participants of the meeting supported the proposal of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to organize in 2026 the international military sports game for youth “Heirs of Victory” and the military cultural and creative festival “Avanpost” with the participation of creative groups and solo performers from the national armed forces of the CIS countries.
Based on the results of the review of agenda items, the Committee members signed a decision on the further development of the system of military-patriotic education for military personnel and pre-service youth of the Commonwealth countries.
Before the meeting of the Committee, military delegations of the CIS countries laid flowers before the Eternal Flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and observed a minute of silence in memory of the defenders of the Fatherland.
