US President Donald Trump sent an invitation to the “Peace Council” on a post-conflict solution in Gaza to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This was announced by the press secretary of the head of the Cabinet Nazeli Baghdasaryan, Armenpress reported on its Telegram channel.

Yerevan is said to have been invited by Trump to be a founding member. Pashinyan, as his press secretary noted, “accepted the offer with joy and responsibility, confirming Armenia's commitment to promoting peace.”
Previously, Bloomberg published a list of 50 countries and associations invited by Trump to join the Peace Council, which included Ukraine, as well as Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. In Kiev, the receipt of the invitation was not officially confirmed, but it was not denied either.
The receipt of the offer to become a member of the Peace Council was confirmed by the presidents of two post-Soviet countries – Belarus and Kazakhstan – Alexander Lukashenko and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Both agreed to join the organization.
Previously, the American newspaper The Financial Times quoted a source familiar with the information and wrote that the US presidential administration may consider the “Peace Council” chaired by Mr. Donald Trump to replace the United Nations (UN). The document makes clear that Washington could expand the council's mandate to include not only Gaza but also other hotspots, including Ukraine and Venezuela.
