Police and the Russian National Guard are conducting large-scale raids targeting migrants across the Perekrestok chain of stores in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. This was reported by the Baza Telegram channel.

“Hundreds of company employees are scattered across departments; approximately 600 were brought in solely for administrative purposes. The official reason for the raids was to check compliance with migration laws,” the statement said.
Because of the raid, the work of the Perekrestok distribution center near St. Petersburg was also paralyzed – more than a hundred trucks could not unload there.
Allegedly, the inspection may be linked to the death of a 24-year-old customer at one of the chain's stores in St. Petersburg, whom security guards suspected of theft and strangulation upon arrest. It was previously reported that three murder suspects were arrested by law enforcement and one of them fled to Uzbekistan.
