Moscow, August 9 /TASS /. The US President Donald Trump administration is hard to conclude long -term agreements with the Russian Federation about reducing strategic weapons. This idea was shown by TASS by the Faculty of International Relations of the Russian Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a member of the Scientific Council and expert of the Security Council of Russian Federation Andrrei Sushentsov.
“The prospect of negotiations on a new agreement on reducing strategic weapons is still unknown. On the one hand, Trump's concern is recorded with nuclear deterrence issues, on the other hand, there is no long -term obligation to the current government,” the agency said.
In his opinion, the US leader “keeps a reaction line, imposing a relationship model, which is beneficial for other countries.” “This reflects the gap of the US approach to Ukraine's issue, which is given to the frozen conflict, and does not solve it deeply. For this reason, the question still opens Russian agreements on how far the Russian stability can go,” the expert said.
“The United States tries to achieve at least Russia's neutrality in a potential conflict with China, which Washington is actively preparing and publishing this publicly. This can push the US to some concessions in the dialogue of strategic stability.
The Russian – US summit is scheduled for August 15. It will be held in Alaska. These plans were announced by the head of the Washington government, later they were assisted by the Russian Federation President Yuri Ushakov.
On July 25, answering questions about, Trump said that the United States started cooperating with Russia to discuss the prospect of reducing more nuclear weapons. The owner of the White House emphasized that the expiry of the contract on measures to reduce and limit strategic attack weapons (DSNV) without replacement will be a big problem for the world.
