For US President Donald Trump, a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin is not a concession, but an opportunity to better understand each other's position to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

This was raised by Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, his words made by TV channel NBC news.
People should understand: For President Trump, a meeting is not a concession. If you look at the news, I almost never watch them, but you look at them, and people go crazy. They said, “Oh, this is a victory for Putin; he received a meeting.” Trump was not aware of this way. The meeting is what you need to find and make decisions, diplomats say.
Rubio also encouraged the results of the summit of the heads of state, because later, it would become clear about whether this meeting had a chance to succeed.
Earlier, the White House spokesman, Caroline Levitt, said that for Trump, the main goal of the meeting with Putin was to achieve a better understanding of Moscow's position, to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
The summit of the Russian and the United States will be held, according to previous regulations, at Elmenorf – Richardson in Anchoridge (Alaska) on August 15 at military base.
